A Community Project for Experiential Travel

Backed by regional funding and a partnership between the Comune of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, the local Pro Loco, and other community groups, a network of cycling and walking trails has taken shape, crossing vineyards, olive groves, and privately owned woods. The project turns private land into shared heritage, placing the visitor at the center of a one-of-a-kind experience.

Sustainability and a Connection to the Land

Sustainability sits at the core of the initiative, which promotes low-impact mobility by reclaiming existing paths and integrating e-bikes. Local farms handle trail maintenance, safeguarding the natural and scenic heritage. The project also encourages travelers to explore the area in an eco-friendly way, keeping their environmental footprint light.

Chianti Bike Natural Park: A Network of Unique Routes

The Chianti Bike Natural Park offers more than 400 km of natural routes that link up with white gravel roads, historic trails, and CAI hiking paths, with a further 2,000 km of potential itineraries. These routes connect places and people alike, strengthening a sense of community and sharing between residents and visitors.

The Mobile App: Your Digital Guide to the Chianti

To make things easier for visitors, a free mobile app doubles as a digital companion. It lets you plan custom itineraries, navigate the trails via GPS, discover events and activities in real time, and pull up detailed information on farms and points of interest through QR codes scattered across the territory.

The project is also an opening for sustainable economic development among local businesses. The farms, restaurants, shops, and accommodations along the routes gain greater visibility and a steady flow of visitors, offering food-and-wine, cultural, and recreational experiences that showcase local traditions and products.
