Amazing photos from an empty Florence during covid19 days

Santa Maria del Fiore

The work done was always in my head, but the rules of the air didn’t allow it except with special permits. The paradoxical Italian and world situation allowed the realization of my idea. Practically a unique and unrepeatable condition. This does not mean that I’m happy, on the contrary it hurt me a lot to see Florence in this state. The photographs could also be taken from the ground, but the drone is my camera for me and being able to see Florence from a different perspective is unique for me.

You would think that the work was done in August, maybe at dawn, when there are very few people around. Instead the photos were taken at peak times, during the city’s life hours and in the classic places of Florence; Piazza della Libertà in the morning, Santa Croce and Piazza della Signoria in the afternoon, not to mention the Station, the Roman gate and the Vittora bridge.
